Boulle' Style Box Ca 1800
This box is of toiseshell veneer inlaid with brass and mother of pearl. The "Boulle" style of inlay was created by Andre' Charles Boulle', a French cabinetmaker who made famous this style of marquetry.
The interior shows the wear of over 150 years,, and there are as usual a few pieces of marquetry missing, additional pieces included with the box. It measures 13 1/8x10x5 1/2".
